What data we collect
Product Assembly collects and stores only the data necessary to provide assembly management functionality:
- Product titles, SKUs, variants, and inventory levels
- Assembly configurations (component relationships and quantities)
- Audit logs of build/disassemble operations
- App settings and preferences
How data is stored
Assembly data is stored as metaobjects within your Shopify store. This means your data lives in your store and is fully controlled by you. When you uninstall the app, Shopify automatically removes all associated metaobject data.
Session data required for authentication is stored in a secure PostgreSQL database and is automatically cleaned up when no longer needed.
Customer data
Product Assembly does not collect, store, or process any customer or end-user personal data. The app operates exclusively with product and inventory data within the Shopify Admin.
Third-party sharing
We do not sell, share, or transfer your data to any third parties. Your data is only accessed through the Shopify Admin API to provide the app's functionality.
Data deletion
Upon app uninstallation, all metaobject data is automatically removed by Shopify. Session data is purged from our database upon receiving the uninstall webhook. You may also request full data deletion by contacting us.
GDPR compliance
Product Assembly fully supports Shopify's mandatory GDPR webhooks including customer data requests, customer data erasure, and shop data erasure. Since we do not store customer personal data, these requests are acknowledged and logged.
